RULES AND ROUTINES REVISITED

    It was easy to forget about your structured life during the summer. Those hazy, lazy days of summer blurred the memory of the homework demands, sports – the games, practices, early bedtimes…and that just refers to school!  How about church and community agenda’s, family commitments, and making sure you’ve got everything ready for work, too. And don’t forget the dishes, laundry and trash….every day, every day!

     So you’ve left behind those carefree times, dressed only in shorts, a tee shirt and sandals – you were ready to go at a moments notice.  And now…walking back into your predictable life, you find it’s been several weeks already.  It takes that long to reacquaint ourselves with the new expectations of the new structured Fall schedule – it’s a lot of work! 

Going through the motions, it might feel as though you are just pushing through the day.  You may be feeling  a huge array of emotions, from leaving the summer and warm beach days behind, to facing demanding schedules, new teachers, or classmates, from first grade jitters, to adjusting to “dorm life”, being away from home for the first time.  Stressful for both young adults AND parents.  Turning the clocks back.   The holidays are  right  around the corner, unhappy holidays we have spent in the past, (it’s no Norman Rockwell), trying to measure up to others’ expectations, or our own, thoughts of loved ones we have lost.  Then the long cold nights, harsh, bitter winds,  creaking cars, icing, snow storms, colds, flu’s, cancellations, inconvenient rescheduling, and top it off with sky rocketing gas and oil prices –you may be asking yourself where does it end? Does all this gloom and doom have a point?  Absolutely!  There is possibly a lot of negative feelings and energy coming your way, IF you allow it.  PLAN NOW!  BE PRO-ACTIVE!  LEARN TO RELEASE THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL!

     Come sit with me while I teach you the process of  RELEASING  those heavy, burdensome, sad feeling – past,  present and future, whether you are 8 or 88 years of age.
