up! What's going on? Like the way you're acting/living?
Do you believe your irritating habit is helping you in some fashion?
Lots of us choose to submerge or cover up inside ourselves feelings such
as fear, anger, nervousness, or boredom. We hide it with a behavior
(i.e. overeating, drinking, smoking, gambling) that we imagine helps
us with these feelings. Like Pavlov's dog, we react to an outside
stimulus with a self-chosen response, (eating that donut, smoking that
Marlboro, drinking that latte) We decide what the response is to be, (comfort,
forgetting or covering up) and we program ourselves to experience our chosen
response.
We CAN
reprogram our responses though. We CAN shift and manage our choices.
